Hi experts,

I have a question regarding express entry. I have applied for Express entry last year July 2016 and I got the total score of 401. Now later few months back I heard the CIC is giving 30 additional points for education in Canada. So I was expecting those 30 points as I have completed my masters from here (Canada). But the points remains the same 401. Later on, I contacted the CIC and they said only new applicants are eligible to get 30 additional hours and since you have submitted your application last year it does not apply on your file.

Now my question to you all is, can I just withdraw the application and apply the new one in order to achieve 30 pts. I am wondering if you guys can help me out. I do not want to take any IETLS or any other english course. I only would like to know how to obtain those 30 additional points, because the last draw reached to 424, if I have had those 30 points then I would have got the interview notification by now but unfortunately it didn't worked.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!
A

withdraw the old profile, and recreate a new one and see what happens....

ideally when you update your information in the current EE profile itself, you should be able to get the canadian education points... but if that doesnt work then withdraw and recreate profile

good luck

@thestunner316,

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually waited for few weeks to see if the additional points adds up to my profile, but it didn't unfortunately. After that I approached CIC to figure out why the points have not been added up and then CIC said the additional points can only be applied to new applications not the old ones. But anyways thanks a lot for your great help. Much appreciated!

The bolded part is simply not true, I can tell you from experience you can edit your profile to get those 30 points.

If you do not get those points after recreating your profile then you most likely answered incorrectly one of the questions in the education section.

@DelPiero07 Thanks for the reply. I have one question for you regarding education section of EE.
I have completed my Master degree from New Brunswick province, and all of the courses were taught in english.

What would be the answer of this question?

1 -Was this degree, diploma or certificate:
from a public post-secondary school, such as a college, trade/technical school, university or CEGEP (in Quebec)
from a private post-secondary school that operates under the same rules as public schools
a diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) or an attestation de spécialisation professionnelle (ASP) earned through a qualifying study program of at least 900 hours from a private school in Quebec, or
a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree from a Canadian private school that can legally award degrees under provincial law. (The student must have been enrolled in a study program that led to a degree as set out by the province.) <----I said "NO".

Can you please help me with this question, as I am totally confused now. Your help will be highly appreciated. Cheers! A

In order to get the points you must answer "Yes" to that question.

I have a feeling you also answered incorrectly the question that follows (the one about half the courses being for ESL or FSL)
