Does anyone know what exactly the IP2 stage ("We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.") signify? What would IRCC be processing at this point in time? Any insights will be really helpful.

While I don't know what do they process at what stage, I can tell you that not always this message means IP2. I had this message for both IP1 and IP2.

2. <I hadn't checked for a few days>
3. We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
