Hi

When applying for Express Entry, they have asked the 'Country of Issue'.

I am an Indian citizen, residing in United Arab Emirates & the 'Place of Issue' in my passport is Dubai.

I would like to know what will be the 'Country Of Issue' in my case, will it be India ( which country I am a citizen of) or will it be United Arab Emirates?
Hi,

If it is an Indian Passport, county of issue will be India and place will Dubai as written on the passport.

Regards

Hi There.
I am having the same issue.
Did you write yes or no for this?
I also graduated from a post secondary school in Ontario.
Your reply will be highly appreciated.

"1 -Was this degree, diploma or certificate:
from a public post-secondary school, such as a college, trade/technical school, university or CEGEP (in Quebec)
from a private post-secondary school that operates under the same rules as public schools
a diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) or an attestation de spécialisation professionnelle (ASP) earned through a qualifying study program of at least 900 hours from a private school in Quebec, or
a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree from a Canadian private school that can legally award degrees under provincial law. (The student must have been enrolled in a study program that led to a degree as set out by the province.)"

Hi All, what happens if the kids are more than 18 yrs of age , when one applies for PR. Where does one enter their details and does CIC consider them your dependents and issue them the PR if your profile is selected for an ITA? Because in the application it does not ask about the kids at all.

No minimum, they just have to be clear. 300 and 600 dpi should be fine as long as they are not larger than 4mb.

all the best

Good Day Friends,

I need guidance on how to fill my profile on CIC. As regards my Educational qualification, I received a WES report that states as follows:

Credential Authentication: Transcripts were verified by the institution
Country: Nigeria
Credential: Bachelor of Science
Year: 2008
Awarded by: University of Lagos
Institution Status: Recognized
Major/Specialization: Accounting
Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's degree (four years)

Credential Authentication: Transcripts were verified by the institution
Country: Nigeria
Credential: Certificate of Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
Year: 2009
Awarded by: Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria
Institution Status: Recognized
Major/Specialization: Accounting
Canadian Equivalency: Two years of professional study
Remarks: The credential is not comparable to a completed Canadian

education credential.

Based on the above, can I say I have “two or more post-secondary credentials with at least one being 3years”?

B) Employer Reference letters are required for the PA. The reference letter must be as specified by CIC. You can find the details of what the reference letters should be like in the link provided at the end of this section.

Depending on where the applicant works, the time taken for employers to issue these reference letters vary. So, it is important to be prepared and apply for the reference letter at the earliest. Please note that reference letters issued by employers while you quit the job is valid indefinitely while the reference letter issued by your current employer is generally valid for one year.

I would like to know if one does not have the employers reference letter and can only provide the appointment letter as I have worked on a cruise ship and all I have is the appointment letter and various stamps on my passport.

The appointment letter alone is inadequate. You will need a letter from the organisation showing the following details:
"a reference or experience letter from the employer, which

should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits; "

Since I work on the cruise ship, I have a contract spanning from 6 to 8 months and a daily of 10 hrs working which is mentioned on all of my contract letters. Will that work instead?

No, it wont. The document you are referring to can only work as a supporting document to the reference letter. If you can not get one directly from the company, you can get a former supervisor to write one for you and get it notarized (this is a last resort).

If you are going to succeed in this process you will need to follow CIC instructions as closely as possible.

Hi,

I notice this is the second time you are posting this without getting a response. The truth is its not an easy question, but I will give you my opinion and hopefully others will comment.

Canadian Equivalency: Two years of professional study
Remarks: The credential is not comparable to a completed Canadian
education credential.

IMO the above points suggest that you can not say you have “two or more post-secondary credentials with at least one being 3years”. This is because it is a professional not an educational credential. The instruction under education in the crs-tool say you must enter the highest level of education you have, therefore you second credential does not count.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

The ministerial instruction below confirms this:

"Educational credentials

(3) In order for a foreign national to be assigned points under subsection (1),

(a) their educational credentials must be Canadian educational credentials; or
(b) they must have a valid educational credential equivalency assessment in respect of their foreign educational credentials issued by an organization or institution designated under subsection 75(4) of the Regulations."

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/mi/express-entry.asp

I hope this helps.

Hello Experts,

I have translated my German PCC through ATIO certified translator. I have submitted below documents for PCC

1) Original Germany PCC with color scan.
2) Declaration from translator with Golden Seal of translator.
3) English translation copy with Golden Seal of translator.
4) Photocopy of german PCC in black and white with Golden Seal of translator

Will it be any issue due to point 4 ?

@Raj - Amazing post. Very helpful !! Thanks a bunch for that.

I have a question on ECA thru WES:

In your blog you have mentioned that validation of 12th Std marklist is not required if a Bachelor degree is already obtained.

<< quote from blog - Please note that you DO NOT need an ECA for your 10th and 12th grade certificates. If you have a bachelors then get ECA done only for your bachelors >>

However in WES's website, both Degree and 12th Std marksheets have been listed as required documents for Indian citizens.

I wanted to understand if you are aware that this is change in their process or alternatively if they just mention 12th Std on their website initially and might say they don't need it once we place our order for evaluation of the Bachelor degree.

Thanks !

Hi Seniors,

I have completed two UK degrees (BSc from Northumbria and CIMA - UK). I did both of these qualifications in Sri Lanka and was awarded by the respective UK institutes. However, when applying for ECA I accidently selected the country of education as UK and ive got my ECA report stating the country of education as UK as all transcripts were sent from UK.

My question is, when I create my EE profile, under the 'Education' section, do I select 'Country of Education' as Sri Lanka or UK. If I do select UK as per my ECA report would it be an issue as I have never been to the UK and will it create a contradiction when updated my travel history?

Your advice is highly valued
