Hi Experts,

For marital status as married, can I, as an applicant, apply without spouse? And my spouse would apply for spouse sponsored-PR later for some personal reason? if yes, do i need to state any explanation to cic on this?

TIA

Yes, you can have her as "non-accompanying spouse" just be aware that sponsorship can take up to 24 months.

Thanx Del,

As per new process, it's only 12 months ( INDIA)

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse/comparison.asp

However, If I select non accompanying spouse option, would CIC ask for any justification on this ?

Thanks for the link!

No, no justification needed but even if you have her as non-accompanying your spouse still has to do the medicals and obtain his/her police certificates.

Thanks much!

In addition, about the Proof of funds- can I show joint account for POF (me and her as the account holders)? Or is it mandatory that I should be individual account holder?

It's fine to have a joint account but since you're applying alone you will need a No Objection Certificate from your spouse granting you full access to the account.

Hi guys

i am creating my express entry profile for the first time. Me and my wife have appeared in the ielts general exam. But my wife fell sick and she could only appear in the ielts speaking test and could not take the Listening, Reading Writing Exam. As a result her ielts test report card has AB (Abscent) written as the score for all three sections namely Listening, Reading and Writing, whereas , she got 6.5 in the speaking test. So, in the ielts test report she has 1.5 overall band with 6.5 in speaking whereas in Listening, Reading and Writing she has AB written.

Now, when i am creating express entry profile can i use her ielts score. And if i do use her ielts score should i select <3 for each of her Listening, Reading and Writing sections as AB is not an option there. Or I cant use this ielts result and she will have to take up the test again.

If i do use her result i can get 3 points and my total CRS score will become 452 else it will be 449 considering I use my ielts score only.

She wont be able to appear in ielts exam anytime soon becaus of her health and I am not in a position to increase my score aswell.

So, kindly advise can i use her ielts result or not in my express entry profile.

Thank you

Unfortunately, no, you will not be able to use her IELTS.

eAPR needs upfront medical.
You need to fill the application and reach at the end of application, there you will get a checklist of all the documents you need to upload based on the answers/information you have provided.

Thank You Stanlee the link is very very helpful and Kamy thank you too ... I have a small doubt , My ielts score expires in may 2017 so just to improve my score i have retaken ielts and i did really bad ,and the score will be out next week and they would definitely be less than the previous score .So should i tell them about the new score or should i continue with the old IELTS scores while i file EAPR .

They have asked for means of financial support from financial institute ,would that mean it should be coming from a chartered accountant ?

Will new IELTS scores override old IELTS scores .

Thanks in Advance

1 - You can use your old IELTS scores.
2 - You need a bank letter following CIC guidelines.

There is no override in IELTS scores, show the best which is also valid(less than two years) at the time of eAPR
You have to show letter from bank/other financial institution not Chartered account. It can be bank statement(ideally six months), mutual funds etc...(you can click on help button to get more information on the field where you have to upload this document)

Hello All members,

After reading so many posts, finally decided to become member of such an amazing forum which has become encyclopedia for CANADA PR with the collective effort of everyone involved.

sorry if this seems like a stupid question.I am really stuck in this given situation. My final CRS score is 452( with CLB 10+). but with last few draws, it looks unlikely that i will ever get ITA. All PNPs are closed. I have 8+ years of IT experience(programming->testing->QA manager)

One of migration agent told me if i apply for his service($1,500 USD), he will help me to create my CV, market it on most relevant platform/channel, can even help me for interviews to find me a job which in turn add 50 points to my CRS making my score 502. then I should get ITA easily. is it feasible? like has it happened?my question is- has there anyone in this forum or anyone you know who got a job in IT industry without going to Canada? not sure if any company will even select a CV from EE profile pool.

Please comment/suggest.

Don't fall for this, he is trying to fool you, there is least to no chances of employers picking you from EE.
Keep monitoring the PNP websites, they quickly open and close, as new year is starting there is highly likely they will start opening but don't get dishearten it may take few months as well.
