Hi rajkamalmohanram,

I'm a bit confused about my work experience CRS points.

I'm going to mention in the work history my 2 previous jobs where I worked 2 years in each (reference letters are ready). I assume they both fall under the same NOC. I sent a letter to the NOC agency to confirm that.
But if not.... will I be able to get maximum CRS points for my work experience from my 2 jobs with 2 different NOC. Both are NOC category B and there was no gap between 2 employments.

This post, I believe would clear some confusion about 2 or more degrees.

Yes, you CAN choose 2 or more degrees. I'd like to explain this a bit because there is a LOT of confusion surrounding this.

This is what is mentioned on the CIC site -
here's the link - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/eca-conversion.asp

People have completely missed to notice the "PLUS any of the results in the sections below (not including secondary/high school)" clause. See, what that sentence means is - If you have 2 credentials AND one of them is at least 3 years long, then you could choose 2 or more degrees if the second credential is ANYTHING THAT IS AVAILABLE BELOW THIS SECTION (which includes all the below -

>> Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
>> Two-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
>> One-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute

OR

The any one from the list that is provided under the "2 or more degrees section" -

Post-Bachelor's Certificate
Post-undergraduate certificate
Post-Bachelor's Diploma
Post-undergraduate diploma
Graduate Certificate
Graduate Certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
Postgraduate certificate
Postgraduate Diploma
Graduate Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]
Graduate diploma
two-year Postgraduate Diploma, specializing in [name of discipline]
two-year Bachelor’s after degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
one-year Postgraduate Certificate in [name of discipline]
one-year of graduate study with a focus in [area of concentration]
Study Toward a Master's Degree

In conclusion, as long as you have a 3 year degree AND your second degree/diploma has been evaluated to any of the following, you CAN choose 2 or more degrees.

College Diploma (three years)
Diploma (three years)
Three-year diploma in [name of discipline]
Three-year advanced diploma
Bachelor's Degree
Applied Bachelor's Degree
Bachelor's degree (three years)
Three-year Bachelor's degree, specializing in [name of discipline]
Three-year Bachelor degree
Bachelor's degree (four years)
Four-year Bachelor's degree, specializing in [name of discipline]
Four-year Bachelor degree
Three-year post-secondary Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
Applied Bachelor’s degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
Bachelor of Technology degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
Three-year Bachelor’s degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
Four-year Bachelor’s degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
College Diploma
College Diploma (two years)
Diploma (two years)
Two-year diploma
Two-year diploma in [name of discipline]
Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years)
Associate Degree
Associate of [Arts/Science] degree
Post-secondary Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]
Two-year post-secondary Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]
Two-year associate degree
College Certificate
Completion of College-level certificate
University Certificate
University Diploma
One-year certificate in [name of discipline]
Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year certificate
Post-Bachelor's Certificate
Post-undergraduate certificate
Post-Bachelor's Diploma
Post-undergraduate diploma
Graduate Certificate
Graduate Certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
Postgraduate certificate
Postgraduate Diploma
Graduate Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]
Graduate diploma
two-year Postgraduate Diploma, specializing in [name of discipline]
two-year Bachelor’s after degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
one-year Postgraduate Certificate in [name of discipline]
one-year of graduate study with a focus in [area of concentration]
Study Toward a Master's Degree

I was scrutinizing this a few minutes back and that PLUS any of the results in the sections below (not including secondary/high school) caught my attention and it made all the difference.

Please share this post to people who have doubts about choosing 2 or more degrees when they have 2 credentials that has both been evaluated to Bachelor's degree.
awesome catch Raj,
I second your observation.
Can you please-please open a new thread dedicated to this post only to take view of the other people.
Asivad, what is your take on this?

Hi Asivad & Raj

Indianaspirant (thread below) had her master & bachelor degrees got evaluated by WES as "one year of graduate studies" & "bachelor" with CANADIAN EQUIVALENT SUMMARY as "BACHELOR" and she has availed the benefit of 2 degrees. See below:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/two-and-more-degrees-eca-evaluation-t392719.0.html

Please help me understanding you point of view on below ECA:

CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY SUMMARY: BACHELORS(4 years)
1. Master of Arts (2 years): BACHELORS(4 years) (Canadian Equivalency)
2. Bachelor of Arts (3 years): BACHELORS(3 years) (Canadian Equivalency)

Thought I would ask this question here as well.

Hi all, yesterday when I started filling out the CIC application, just had a question. Does this mean only from January 2006- January 2016?

1) My background: Completed Double Major University degree in 2004 (2000-2004)

2) Went on a 'gap year' trip around Europe with University friends (Jan - June 2005)

Started work at first job: July 2005 - Jan 2007

Should I be leaving out (1) and (2)? Please Help.
Yes

I imagine that you'll have to choose Bachelors based on this ECA.

Hi Asivad

1. Master of Arts (2 years): BACHELORS(4 years) (Canadian Equivalency)
2. Bachelor of Arts (3 years): BACHELORS(3 years) (Canadian Equivalency)

Now can I choose "Two or more degrees" ?

Well, owing to the rediscovery this morning, I would respectfully beg to differ from Asivad's POV. I am inclined to believe that you can indeed choose 2 or more degrees!

Hi vinay, I'm not as knowledgeable in this area as Asivad or rajkamalmohanram, but it seems to me to choose this option you need:

1) 3 year degree and
2) 2 year degree

There does not seem to be an option for:

4 year degree

Maybe I'm reading Raj's list incorrectly.

So for below WES report:

CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY SUMMARY: Bachelor's degree (three years) and bachelor's degree (four years)
1. Master of Arts (2 years): BACHELORS(4 years) (Canadian Equivalency)
2. Bachelor of Arts (3 years): BACHELORS(3 years) (Canadian Equivalency)

Markicof has suggested here http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/two-and-more-degrees-eca-evaluation-t392719.75.html

Bachelors Degree
Level of Education - Two or more ( as per http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=1129&t=29 )

Then in the lower section;

Level of Education(Canadian Equivalent) - Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute (ECA states Bachelor's degree (four years))

Master'e degree
Level of Education - Two or more

Then in the lower section;
Level of Education(Canadian Equivalent) - Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute (ECA states Bachelor's degree (four years))

Asivad & Raj
What is your POV please?
