How? I was 22 and I saved all of my money, I arrive as a tourist for 6 months then in this 6 months I found employer who was able to give me lmio ( I work in construction, so you can only imagine how hard was for me) then I come back to my country and was waiting for lmio for 13 months since I met my employer , I didn't had a money I was living with my husband for 1000$ per months, we spend all of our saving money but was worthy and trust me this 2 years was for us so stressful for us. Now I can just be happy because everything I did , I did by myself. And trust me I saw a lot of people, good education, expierience, language and they arrive with pr to Canada, and they can't find a job. Why? Because with find a job problem is your experience not your status. If you don't have Canadian expiirience will hard to find good job.

So here is our story - we did "just" go to Canada 2 years ago on turist visa. We went there for 2 weeks only. Luckily my husband found an employer willing to apply for LMIA, without having Canadian work experience. We came back to the country we live in. The employer applied and we were waiting patiently for the decision. Unfortunately for us the application has been rejected.
By the way it was in Edmonton as well
So as you can see "just" go to Canada is not always enough, you need some luck as well. And we both have very well English, education and work experience.
Anyway, I still believe that one day the luck will come to us.

Older immigrants are bringing their children with them. It's not like every non-Canadian at 40 is single with no kids.
Besides, if that was the case, then they would award more points for having children.
Canada does not simply need more population - it needs more "quality" population.

An older immigrant bringing their children with them from a foreign land increases levels of risk as there is every chance the foreign born child will not be able to adapt or can become a problem for the Canadian education system.

I see what you did there but all I did was mention risks that can occur when kids are forced to move across countries/continents with their parents and start a new life. I've seen this myself in the UK where a lot of kids born overseas require special attention and investment from the school system due to language problems and aspects of their original culture. They also miss their friends and families back home and sometimes don't quite understand why their parents forced them to give up everything they knew and essentially start from scratch in a new land.

My apologies, but I completely disagree on this..Having lived in several countries in the past 20 years, I have seen plenty of families with children immigrating. The children are the ones who actually do very well, below 14 it is easy to make friends, speak the language and get integrated very quickly. They go to school from Day 1 and are part of society instantly. It is most likely the parents that struggle, have problems with the culture and language. But then, I probably generalize, too.
