Hello,
I have just completed an express entry profile and got an instant response saying I was not eligible. According to the points calculator tool, I am eligible and scored 493 points.
I just completed my PhD in Canada, I am currently on a post-graduation work permit, and want to apply through the Federal Skilled Worker category since I have more than 1 year full time work experience in France and in the US and no valid Canadian experience yet (since I was a full time student).
I have completed my CELPIP test and scored 12/12, 12/12, 11/12 and 9/12.
I think the problem is the number of hours per week I declared in my express entry profile for my foreign work experience. I did work what is considered full time teaching (both at the secondary level and at the university level) but what is consider full time teaching hours is not 30h/week (what CIC wants to see to be eligible). My contracts are for 18 to 20h of in class teaching but obviously, with preparation, marking and other duties, it is consider full time and I end up working way more than 30 hours per week. I wonder how I should reflect this.
Should I write 30h/week and when it will be time to provide documents and proof, when I'm invited to apply, add an explanation letter address this specific case? I have already requested my letters of employment and they confirm that my employment was considered full time (even though the official teaching hours are not 30h/week).
Your help would be much appreciated!
Also, is it ok to resubmit a new express entry profile right away, if one has already been submitted and considered uneligible?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Catherine
