I submitted my express entry profile and hoping to be picked up soon. I have a 8 month old daughter who is a US citizen and for whom I am not seeking a PR, so I haven't applied for her. While mentioning the number of dependents, I included her but only mentioned my spouse as a person accompanying/seeking a PR. Now, as an American citizens she is allowed to travel to Canada without a visa, so am not sure if it will be a problem in the future?

On the other hand I was looking for the fees/paperwork associated with a dependent child and those weren't hefty, so was wondering if I should apply for her as well .

Please guide!

You need to include her as a dependent if you expect her to live in Canada. Yes - of course it will be a problem in the future if you don't include her as a dependent.

The US and Canada are two completely separate countries. Americans are not allowed to live in Canada. They are only allowed to visit temporarily. As a visitor, she won't have access to the Canadian health care system or be able to attend school once she's older or be able to work or have any of the other benefits that a permanent resident has.

And while Americans can visit Canada using their passports alone, this is a privilege and not a right. This means that Canada can and sometimes does refused entry to Americans who are trying to enter as visitors.

Again, you need to include her as a dependent. She needs to become a PR like you.

@Scylla Thanks!
I have couple of more questions-

1)Since I have already submitted my application, can I update it now?
2) How long or difficult process it is, if I apply for her PR once I am in Canada?

I think if you do not include her in your initial application you will never be able to add her in the future. There are a number of posts regarding dependents on this forum. She will require a passport and a medical to be done to include her in your application.
