I recently got my P.R and I had frequented these forums a lot of times to get answers some of the common queries everyone has. I was a silent observer for most of the time so felt like sharing the fact that I got the P.R and if I could be of help through my information.

I had applied under the express entry in Oct 2015 and didnt really have any update on it , till a ghost update followed by a mail asking me to submit my passport. I did the same and got my C.O.P.R in April 2016. I didn't hire any consultant and used CIC website and these forums to help me with the process.

my question, is it normal that BG check changes various times? when shall it change to in progress? How long will it take for PPR to come.

An important fact is that I have already submitted RPRF.

Hi I got a question. I mailed my passport with my photos today. But I forgot there were some old photos in my passport, which don't meet the PR photo specifications. So I mailed both the new correct ones and the old ones. Is it OK? Is it gonna delay the processing time? Thanks! !!

Actually what i wanted to ask was, is it normal that BG ckeck takes some much time. I do not know if mine has even started or not. I have already paid the RPRF.

Its quite normal for it to stay so till the end. In my case, It showed BG in process till the end, then finally everything changed to approved.

and the BG status changing is also normal .

The RPRF fees you are talking of has no bearing on the BG status , if you hadn't paid it , the stage where they need to ask for it , they would send in a request.(thus some extra delay).

What you are experiencing is perfectly normal, given the info you provided.

February 22nd 2016 E-AOR
March 3rd 2016 Schedule 4A request
March 3rd 2016 Medicals Passed
March 18th 2016 Background status changed from In-Progress to not needed at this time

Did you shift through a lot of jobs, and did you mention about the same while filing EE application or did u show just one job.

Also let me know, if they actually conducted background check for all your jobs

On June 13, 2016 its been 6 Months, so what should I do now? Should I call CIC or wait for few more days?
Any suggestion please.

Only you can do is just nothing and wait. You can order gcms if you want to see current status of your application.

I recently got my my PR using the express entry route.

I had applied in August'2015(last week) and got the invitation to Apply(FSW) in Sept '2015. I had 459 points.

The timeline (approx)

Received Invitation to Apply : Sept '2015
Submission of Express entry application : 1st Nov'2015 (first week)
Acknowledgment : 2nd Nov'2015
Medical : Passed : 6th Nov
Background Check and Eligibility check : In Progress :6th Nov
>> No update till march>>
March 15 '2016 : Ghost update : No message or update could be seen
March 19'2016 : Request for Passport
April 13 : Got Confirmation of P.R along with landing procedures.

No agent/consultant used. Single applicant

Hi All,

Can you please suggest, which VO is my application likely to go?
and I didn't pay RPRF upfront, if I pay when CIC request, does that delay the process? Or any other way to pay it now?

Also, I've read through the forums about FBI PCC. I have already provided PCC for UK and for India (applied from Indian Embassy in UK).
Do we still need FBI PCC separately?

Hi everyone,

I got my E-AOR on May 19th, no changes in my medical report yet, it's been 3 weeks .
What i've seen is it clears within a week for most of the people.

Does anyone have had same issue?

I got my ITA on March and medicals were done in Feb.
