That is a great suggestion dragon17Sky. It is just so confusing. They are also asking for Schedule A again (I submitted the one 2 weeks ago), saying to pay close attention to the statutory questions. I feel like they think we are lying to them or something. I am so frustrated. The letter says that our file has moved to Ottawa

Goodday,

based on the added information you said they asked for which seemingly looks as if they are suspicious, i will advise you take snapshots of whatever forms you fill online for FBI PCC. also upload any receipts of payment for such PCC if any and any other communication with the FBI before the submission deadline. all this should go along with an explanatory letter.

reason is, just writing a letter of explanation still might have them handsoff your application till the document is received. however, if some proof of you already beginning the process to request such PCC is available, then i feel its easier for them to continue other processing pending that if ever they still require it.

just my thoughts all the best

Thanks a lot rasber - I know you are also amongst the old ITA holders.
I am sure yours too is coming, may be just a fraction of time. As per my experience believe me, once this long wait is over seems you will be on cloud 9

Thanks for the suggestion. I decided to go ahead and apply for the FBI clearance. At this final stage, I feel like it is maybe not a good idea to argue with them. My husband has no criminal record in the states, and I am not scared of the results. It is just going to take extra time. As far as Schedule A, I will just submit the previous form, newly signed.

Does anyone know how long it may take to get the confirmation after I update my family status?

I called CIC call center and they said to send an email regarding the status change. I sent the email on June 9 but haven't received any update.

There is no set time period for updates. But in my case I updated my spouse's status using CSE on 1st July and I got a confirmation email on 6th July that the documents have been attached to my profile.

But I would still say that don't panic, you will get it soon.

Also I would suggest that send two set of fingerprints, FBI sometimes is not able to read the fingerprints and you will get to know only after 3 months. So it's better to send multiple prints in the initial request itself. Go for the digital ones if possible there is less chances of rejection in those.

Does FBI accept digital fingerprints? That's news to me...

No, the fingerprint agencies take the digital scan and print it on the fingerprint card.
