Mine has been "In process" for a month now, but no PR yet. Everybody is different.

From what I've seen on this forum, if your ECAS status is "In process", then usually BG check changing "In progress" means a PPR soon. If ECAS status is Application Received, BG check "In progress" doesn't mean much.
Basically, once both your ECAS is "In process" AND your BG check is "In progress", then PPR is probably imminent. It's not a 100% rule, though - I've read of at least one applicant whose BG check never went beyond "Not started", and he got his PPR.

Hello

In my passport (issued in India), my

Surname is blank and
Given name is FARZAN AHMED.

When I am trying to fill express entry profile. it is not letting me leave the surname column blank.

1. I found the instructions from CIC FAQ Website where there is no surname listed on the passport :-
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What do you mean by surname?

Your surname is your family name. It is sometimes called your “last name.” If your name is spelled differently on your official documents, please write your name as shown in your passport. When filling out applications, type your surname as it appears on your passport, travel or identity document or any letters you got from the visa office or case processing centre where you sent your application (even if the name is misspelled). Do not use initials.

If you do not have a surname on your passport, travel or identity document, enter all your given name(s) in the surname field, write “not applicable” or “N/A” in the given name field."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After reading the CIC instructions I put "Not Applicable" in surname column but then system update my name as "Farzan Ahmed Not Applicable" and showing everywhere the same name as told above.

Now I dont understand what to do....if I leave it blank then it shows error as mandatory column...., Write not applicable in that field, it will show up as "FARZAN AHMED NOT APPLICABLE" in a given name.

WILL CIC ACCEPT IT LIKE THIS Huh?
Plz Help ...................................... ???

In Canada, Family name/surname is the most important aspect. That's why CIC will recommend you to put your name in SURNAME section and enter "X" or "NOT APPLICABLE" in GIVEN NAME field. Hope this helps.

I received my PPR last June 1. I sent my passport June 8 it normally takes 2 weeks the whole process. 3 Days from CIC date received there should be changing the status from open to close but it is not happening now. Does anyone in the group have the same situation?

Did you apply from within Canada, or from the outside? In the latter case, how long did CIC take to arrange it for you to send passports to your local VO?

looks like 2 days between PPR letter on mycic and ECAS status update to Decision Made.

hope for the best,

where are you applying from? I have asked for arrangement to be made in india for copr stamping. I have mailed to them as asked. When can I expect to hear back from them?

I have the same question. Is there anyone from outside Canada here who already mailed CIC their passport? How long did it take CIC to reply to your request to process your passport at a local VO?

Got my PPR today! Now I'm worried about how fast CIC will arrange to have my visa issued at a local VO (I've applied from outside Canada and can't send it to Ottawa, but I received the generic letter telling me to mail it to Ottawa or contact them to make arrangements for a local VO). Hope they can reply and tell me which VO to send documents to in 30 days.

Guys,

My Background check is in progress since May 11.
ECAS shows 3 lines.

I applied on 29th March.

How many more days for PPR?

Should be any day if previous cases are anything to go by... what status is your ECAS? That seems to be the biggest factor. If it's gone from Application Received to In Process it'll be imminent.

It shows "Application Received" with 3 lines since 11 May.

Wow, that's worrisome. Since you only have 30 days, and delivery will eat some of those (unless you live in the same city the VO is located), you only have a couple of weeks left. Have you tried calling them?
EDIT: read your previous posts, and it seems that you have already successfully mailed your passport to Ghana. My question is: you had to contact CIC so that they tell you which VO to send your passport to, right? Did you use their CPC-CTD-Ottawa email? How long did they take to respond? I'm worrying about this bit right now, not about the actual sending of the passport yet. Or did your PPR letter explicitly state to send your passport to Ghana?

I think its 30 days to submit only, VO can take whatsoever time to process it does not matter, your passport should be delivered with in 30 days, so don't worry...and congratss...
