What kind of data ?? could you provide a little bit of insight to the process ?

It will have every detail like I was shocked looking at it first time when I saw the document ordered by my friend. It says this applicant has applied for a diploma where he has a masters from his country in different field of study and with no reason to deny with medicals of criminal history we appro.ving his student visa. This is the final note i saw after reading the whole document woh more than120 pages

Cant even begin to explain it to you the way i see it and what i have read so far they do a real count on your score for every possible program there is and ensure you are on the right one. I have never seen so many NOT METS in my life and its scary once u look at it but they diligent that i can tell you. Event the 67 point score gets calculated ext PNP whole bunch then security page is one mile long and boy not even to talk about the info sharing and uploads. One thing i can tell u is they are good at record keeping............and confusing ME :o :P :-\

Righteous congratulations! Please could you quickly answer these questions: when did your background check change to in progress and did you apply from within Canada (if not which visa office was responsible for your application)? Thanks a lot!

My background check changed to "in progress" on 01 June.
No, I didn't apply from within Canada. applied from Nigeria and Ghana visa office is responsible for my application. Thats where I sent my PPR to.

All the best.

Thanks for your reply! Wow background check changed on the same day as passport request! This means people who have their background check as not started should not be worried. Good news!

Congrats Jaffa, Righteous and others with great news. Keep it coming guys.

I would love for that to be True! But recent history seems to indicate that CIC has at least as many pathways towards PPR as the number of applicants - hardly any 2 applicants have had the exact same process and milestones so far! ::)

Good point Asivad. I think people are reading too much into the statuses on their CIC and ECAS. Noone knows what CIC is doing at any given time, they're very inconsistent with their updates

Btw, Righteous's post also seems to confirm (in addition to that Jamaican newspaper article that you shared the other day) that local VOs are very much involved with processing the application esp BG checks.

Yampower: KVO was certainly pacy in processing that lady's application while yours is much like the rest of us. Is there a separate fast track queue for single moms in KVO? :P
