When I submitted my application I also attached Police Check from local police station here in Calgary but CIC asked for fingerprinting check

Considering the current economic just not sure about the job situation, quite nerve wracking situation for me !

Guys, I have a questions. According to you guys' timeline, I think by the time I get passport request, it's the same period when my F1 visa status in USA expires and I have to go home. What would happen if I mailed my passport and it still doesn't come back when I have to leave? ??? Hopefully I'm just thinking too much...

You will have upto 60-90 days to vacate USA once your status expires. But prefer not to overstay in USA, ask CIC for Extension by updating your address to your Home country before you send the Passport for stamping and they will ask you to send your Passport to Your nearest Canadian Embassy/Consulate. Good Luck, Hope this helps you.

my passport got to CIC last Thursday.. today I got the landing documents back.. all done in less than 48 hours..

I have Italian/european passport.

I have not received an AOR yet, but I tried to use my EE profile number on ECAS, which gives me an very interesting result.

It indicates that my application started processing on Mar 7.

Hi All!
After completing my profile, the checklist initially had an option to upload additional documents with letter of explanation. This option doesn't appear after i made a few changes in my profile and completed it again. I wanted to upload docs for educational activity and jobs mentioned in personal history which I haven't claimed points for Sad, this would definitely make the process smoother and wouldn't have them coming back to me Sad. What must I do? Please suggest! Any advice is appreciated. Thanks a ton!

CAIPS - Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System. This is the computer system used by Citizenship and Immigration Canada for storing all overseas visa application information. This system records every bit of information you provide. It is like an electronic identity; existence of the applicant. This is very helpful when anything abnormal happens (e.g. delay in reply, lack of updation, long processing time). It is also helpful when you are selected for the interview. You can know the probable cause of interview requirement by obtaining the CAIPS notes.
CANN - Community Airport Newcomers' Network
CELPIP - Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program. This is one of only two English language testing organizations approved by CIC (IELTS is the other). CELPIP testing is only available in Canada (Vancouver and Toronto) and China.
