Hi Kumar1984,

This is the case with a lot of applicants. There is not need to be worried. Many offices don't updated the status that frequently. Wish you all the very best for your application.

Count me in. I have submitted my application on March 10th. Nothing yet. But I noticed yesterday my ecas status changed to "Application Received" from "In Process"
I thought it would change from application received to in process. Am I wrong all the time?

Were you able to make the change in your submitted application? Please let me know what you did to make the change and how long long it took.

Thanks
I have only been able to send a generic email to CIC reporting the error. Hopefully a visa officer will contact me for more docs/info.

Cheers

When your ECAS profile opens up, it shows as "in process" then it shows as "Application received" from CIC. it is then forwarded to CIO Sydney visa office and will show "in process" after which it will show "decision made".

Yes,
Mine was cancelled on the premise that medical for non- accompanying kids were missing, even when they never asked me to upload it.
They never asked for it and straight away cancelled the application for being incomplete after 2 months.
I hate to bear bad news, but CIC website does say a medical for non-accompanying dependents are necessary.

"Medical exam for permanent residents:
If you apply for permanent residence, you must have an immigration medical exam. Your dependants must also have a medical exam, even if they are not coming with you."

Hi All,

I want to really understand what you guys think about this.I have received my ITA and currently I'm filling the next set of forms. I'm in a fix about how to represent data in the below 3 sections -

1. Address History
This section asks me for all addresses that I have lived in for the last 10 years. What if I came from Philippines (Country of study) to India (Home Country) & stopped for 2 nights in Singapore (visiting sister, friends etc.)? Now though my Singapore visit can be proven by the stamp in my passport, do I need to mention it here? My brain says no as Singapore never became my 'address' per se, but please share what you think. Same case when I was in Canada for 4 months then travelled to US for a week before coming back to India. I don't think I'd need to list the hotel's address in US.

2. Personal Activities
This section asks me to list the activities that I was doing in the last 10 years. What if I was vacationing, looking for jobs, on a term break etc? For eg, in my term break in Philippines, I first travelled to Singapore, stayed for 2 days, then travelled to India, stayed for 10 days, then travelled back to Singapore, stayed for 2 days & then went back to Philippines. I obviously have all these stamps on my passport, but do I need to mention all these details in this section? My brain again says no as I wasn't engaged in any 'activity' per se while in Singapore or for that matter, even while in India. I think I should just mention what I was broadly doing in that time period, which is 'Studying in the Philippines', but I don't know how to handle the change of country in that time period. Please share what you think.

3. Travel History
This is still relatively simple than the above sections. I am required to fill details of all trips taken outside my country of origin or residence. Now do I here mention 2 day stop-overs in countries on transit? Also, surprisingly, there are no stamps on my passport when I have left Canada and US (in fact, for one trip, I can't even locate the admitted into US stamp!) But in all, there are just 12 trips outside of India & I think its manageable, even if I mention all of them.

Many of you have passed this step already. Hence I'm looking forward for some guidance here. Please help!

I have the same issue here. I didn't upload any of the stamps on my passport and also didn't upload the work permit page. I only submit the front page of the passport with my info and picture on it. But I did included the LMO number in the application. Any one knows if the worse case they reject the application usually how long we will get the answer? Since my LMO will be expired at the end of July kinda worry I won't have time to reapply.
I am sailing in the same boat. I am going to call CIC today and ask them if we can add those documents by case specific inquiry. I request you guys to do the same. Please share your experience who haven't uploaded this documents. Let's see how many different answers they give.

1) Address history is where you have LIVED, and where you have lived is not the same as every place you have stayed for a night, a week, even a month. It is the place you come "home" to, have a job, apartment or house, bank account, etc., in, even if temporarily. Of course where you stayed for a couple of days or a week is not your address. Put those things in your travel spaces.

2) Everyone has this problem, since the form requires you account for all your time over the last ten years. So I chose from the drop-down menu the basic thing I was doing in my life - "Education" if I had not yet finished school, "Employment" if I had, then wrote in the next space "Summer break between undergrad and grad school" or "Looking for work" or "taking time off between jobs for travel". In your Activities section, for the thing you mention, I would choose "Education" since it seems you were on a break from school, and then "travel" as what I was doing. In the third section - travels - you would list those travels separately.

3) The US and Canada do not monitor exits yet, and that is why you have no exit stamps. That may change. And yes, mention all your trips, even just a couple of days, even ones for which you have no stamp. I lived in Europe for 10 years and traveled freely between EU countries, without stamps. I had to look back into my calendar and photos to try to figure out where I had been and when. In the end, I just did it to the best of my ability, and that's all CIC can really ask!

Hi Shaggy_ger,

Please let me/us know what you find out. I am going to try CIC again next week, but don't hold out much hope of a useful answer!

Are you FSW stream as well?
So after asking a visa specialist, she advised that if your permit is about to expire, as long as you have an AOR you should be able to apply for an open permit online through your myCIC.

I had to do that determine your eligibility which was a bit confusing. Once done you should have the option to apply for an open permit (which is actually the bridge permit but they don't call it that). Then you are required to upload digital photo, IMM5710, Passport or travel document, Proof of Medical Exam. (Thats as far as I have got so far)

The Itinerary, Travel I believe is not required if you have been staying in Canada but be sure to add a letter to explain that you have been living in Canada for whatever length of time. You current status will go into implied status once your permit is up until a decision is made. You cannot leave the country at this point or your application maybe cancelled.

The above might not be 100% but that what I was told. Hope it helps

So I pose the following question:

If I use my AOR to apply for BOWP and I get issued a BOWP and for some odd reason the cancel my application "witch has been happening more often now" and I have to create a new profile does the BOWP cancel out the LMO and 600 points? or can I still claim it as it is still valid for 3 months. My logic tells me BOWP cancel out a LMO what is the general thinking

Yes buddy I almost made that same mistake in the beginning (wp) I was lucky as the VO send me a request for my then 2 year old. But that turned out to add 6 weeks on my Visa application as the VO processed her medicals and issued her with a work and study permit and held up the whole application as they needed a parent signature ..........lol work visa for a 2 year old but its true i got it sorted out. This time round i did all at the same time and made sure that i submitted all together and uploaded them properly

Hello dobes,

Thanks a ton for your reply. +1 for that!

A more specific doubt that I have in the activity section is this -

I was studying in Philippines from 03 Sep 2011 to 17 Dec 2011 then travelled for 3 weeks (Philippines-Singapore-India-Singapore-Philippines) and finally returned to Philippines on 8 Jan 2012 until 21 July 2012. Then again travelled for 5 weeks (Philippines-Singapore-India) before leaving for Canada on 3rd Sep 2012 to continue my MBA in the last exchange semester. There I did a 4 day travel in Oct (canada-US-Canada). I then left Canada on 21st Dec 2012.

Now my question is that do I have 7 rows for the above duration between 03 Sep 2011 to 21 Dec 2012 -
1. Education-Studying-Masters/No degree-Philippines
2. Education-Travel-No degree-India (can be singapore also)
3. Education-Study-Masters/No degree-Philippines
4. Education-Travel-No degree-India (can be singapore also)
5. Education-Studying-Masters/No degree-canada
6. Education-Travel-Masters/No degree-US
7. Education-Studying-Masters/No degree-canada

I also think that I should mention Master's degree obtained only once - right at the end. But wouldn't that be a problem as I actually didn't get the degree from the Canadian univ but the Philippine univ?
What to fill in the field 'country where this activity took place' in situations where I plan to club travel to 2 countries one after the other (such as in 2. & 4. above)
In the field 'standing at the end of the study period', do I keep saying 'not completed' for the first 4 situations. Would CIC understand that I'm talking about the same study that got completed in Dec 2012 and not 5 different ones 4 of which I left midway or something.

Damn, I have so many doubts that I think I can confuse even the guy who designed the CIC portal. Let me know if you would want me to explain it better or over a call or something. Couldn't be thankful enough to all of you who help!
