I've received one of the usual notifications from CIC saying there has been an update on my application. But i'm seeing no new messages or new information in my application/profile status. Has anybody who has been through the process experienced this?

It happens from time to time. I experienced it soon after I submitted my application and for medicals passed and background check changes. Havent had any recently.

Ok thanks. Having had another look, I think the background check section changed from 'Not needed at this time' to 'Not started'

The same thing happened for IrieLady. So maybe that is the case for you guys as well. I even requested a change of VO to Kingston and they responded to tell me it was not possible based on work load redistribution.

I sent my passport to Trinidad and it took 3 weeks and 4 days to get back to me. So mentally prepare yourself for a little wait if you are required to send your passport to Trinidad.

My application was updated yesterday evening, background check IN PROGRESS (April 1/2, 2016).

I did not receive a notification email though, I jus checked MYCIC this morning and saw the update.

Does this mean things like my proof of funds and job letter are ok??
