Unfortunately you are incorrect. The 6 months rule only applies to the country you currently live in but the OP now resides in Canada and not Jamaica. If it were a Canadian PC then it would no longer be valid but as it's a Jamaican PC it's still valid.Xfactor said:Congrats on your ITA. If your police certificate is dated in January then yes you may need another one. The certificate should not be more than six months old but maybe they will let it slide. Hopefully they don't reject your application but rather ask you to submit a new one.
Yes the police certificate is valid. This is because you haven't lived in Jamaica for the past 2 years and the Jamaican PC was obtained in January of this year which is after the last time you lived in Jamaica.PresidentMacAwesome said:Wah gwaan everybody?
Got ITA one week ago with 460 points under FSW. I living in Canada now and have been for the last 2 years. I have a police record from Jamaica I received in Janauary of this year. Would that police record be valid or do I have to get a new one?
Thank you
Ok thanks. I stand corrected.Anya654 said:Unfortunately you are incorrect. The 6 months rule only applies to the country you currently live in but the OP now resides in Canada and not Jamaica. If it were a Canadian PC then it would no longer be valid but as it's a Jamaican PC it's still valid.
No, proceed with the application, enter the correct ECA number and provide an explanation in a letter that you'll upload with the ECA and degrees. CIC doesn't ask for the ECA but in this case I think you definitely need to send it.Nyla said:Hi everyone,
quick ques... If I entered a digit incorrectly for my ECA and received ITA, can I correct it after receiving ITA?
Would I have to decline, modify then wait for another invitation?
I guess the statistics speaks for themselves.YamPower said:Guys, have we seen this?

By the information provided there is hope for everyone given the current state of the pool. Also, very few Jamaicans have applied through EE, fewer than 43.
Can you give a breakdown of your score?jiggaman_16 said:I guess the statistics speaks for themselves.
I corrected my information that i mistakenly entered about having a Certificate of Qualification & i'm now down to 357 points
Apart from the Spouse ECA & English test, what would you guys advise me to do to get the points back up?
I actually made some calls to a couple institutions & they said i could challenge the Certification of Qualification exam....i did some research but that exam seems hard like woah....where i would basically need to know a ton of information on canada's electrical codes & such to pass the exam....seems like a longshot where i could challenge the exam & easily fail it....
Any advise?

Your skills transferability is only 38 in total and that's directly attributable to your language points and education.jiggaman_16 said:Application/profile status-----------------------------------Open

Gonna challenge the Red Seal Qualification Certificate to get back the 50 points. NOC = 7242YamPower said:Your skills transferability is only 38 in total and that's directly attributable to your language points and education.
If you were to do a one-year certificate at a community college and do over the IELTS such that you get a minimum of 8 in listening and 7 in everything else (that's CLB 9), your score would increase by over 60 points. You'd lose 5 points for age by that time though.
To be honest, I don't see you getting an invitation to apply otherwise.
Which NOC are you?
It's definitely worth a shot. Doing over the IELTS and getting higher scores would help too.jiggaman_16 said:Gonna challenge the Red Seal Qualification Certificate to get back the 50 points. NOC = 7242
Yeah, but we all know that retakin the IELTS is at LEAST a year from now ???YamPower said:It's definitely worth a shot. Doing over the IELTS and getting higher scores would help too.
