Hi everyone. I am in the process of applying for my educational credential assessment. I am not 100% sure who I am using yet but I will make a decision by this week. I have the English exam in March. I am kicking myself because based on my expected score from the CRS calculator, I would have gotten an ITA on January 4 if I was already in the pool. I am happy for the changes to Express late last year and I hope the required score for ITA stays at this level!

Hello. I was wondering if anyone from Jamaica or the wider Caribbean submitted CAPE results to WES. And whether or not, along with your Bachelors Degree, it would qualify as two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees?

Hmm, good question. Since CAPE awards an Associate's degree or a diploma if you pass a certain number of units.

Exactly. I might try it. The more points the better. Hope it isn't a waste of money though.

By the way, I'm using IQAS to assess both my post grad diploma and degree because they charge one flat fee, regardless of how many credentials

I got my degree evaluated through WES (Bachelors). They charge a flat rate if you're submitting them all at once, but I only had the epiphany about CAPE this week, so I would have to pay an additional fee to get my CAPE transcripts evaluated as well.

If I had sent it all at the same time, it would have been a flat fee, no matter how many credentials.

Where did you do your post grad and how long did it take?

Congrats! I'm going to look at doing a postgrad if this CAPE evaluation doesn't work out.

Accounting. That's my specialty. But I'm willing to branch out with the post grad. Really just need the points.

Check out the part time post grad diploma at Mona School of business for Business Admin. Its only 1 year long. If you're interested in education the VTDI Post Grad in Education and Training, which I did, is good. It's accredited by the UCJ as well. UTech should have stuff too

Thanks! I'll check them out. Hopefully the score comes down below 450 this year though. For me at least. With your two or more degrees you're def above 450.

Good luck. I'm not doing IELTS until March but if I get a good score I should be over 460

That's great! With 460, you will definitely be receiving an ITA upon entering the pool.

IELTS wasn't difficult as long as you to read and listen carefully. The answers are multiple choice and there are many that are very close.
I got 8 in Speaking, 8.5 in listening, 9 in reading and 8.5 in writing. I thought I would have maxed out the speaking (being a native English speaker) but I guess there was something they were listening for on my tape that I didn't say or interpret correctly.

I suggest you don't take it for granted being native and truly study. Read and practice all their material and there are persons who post their past questions on this forum; use that to your advantage.

Good Luck!

Things are looking interesting on the global landscape. I fully expect the points requirement for Express to go up over the next few months based on Trump's stance and people rushing to enter the pool, since the US is no longer an option for them. PM Trudeau basically said we welcome you all with open arms today on Twitter. Hmmm :-X :o
