Express entry and PGWP

Hello everyone,

I've applied for PGWP in May and currently waiting for Service Canada to open collection of biometrics.
Today, I've received my IELTS test results, so I have enough points to apply for express entry and receive invitation.

My question is the following: if I apply and get invitation for PR, would it affect my PGWP application somehow ? Since my student visa is about to expire, I was wishing to obtain PGWP and then apply for a traveler visa to visit my home country during the winter break. However, if my PGWP application will be cancelled based on my PR application, I won't have this opportunity and will have to wait until PR is issued (assuming everything is ok with my application). At IRCC website it is said that I am allowed to apply for PR while waiting for PGWP, but nothing was stated about any implications.

Your PR process and your status in Canada (if any, e.g. PGWP, visitor etc.,) are completely unrelated, as long as you have status if you remain in Canada.

Thank you for the response! Please forgive me my misunderstanding, but your answer implies that I can be in a process of both PR and PGWP applications at the same time, right? I remember that in application for PGWP I have to say whether I've applied for PR or not... So, I am worried that PGWP and PR are interrelated and one can't apply for PGWP (or Visa) while waiting for PR

which of the following scenarios do you recommend:
1-Apply for PGWP first and after obtaining it, apply to PR.
2-Apply for PR first then after the application is created apply for PGWP.

really? cuz a lot of people advised that I should not have an active EE application before I apply and get my PGWP?
am afraid if applied to my PGWP will haveing my EE profile active it would be considered as dual intent and I might not get my PGWP? and in that case, I would need to get back to my home country until my PR is processed, also if I waited to get my PGWP first then apply for PR I would lose 5 points because of age

This isn't true. You can do both.

Don't do anything differently. I've applied and got PGWP and now waiting for the PR. If I get COPR anytime soon, we might call it a success story

I’ve applied for PGWP and after a month or two applied for EE the only reason for the delay was IRCC with CEC only program due to covid

That's a relief!, So if I applied to PGWP then after a couple of weeks applying for PR that would work too? in my case am applying to FSW track with no program specified.

I believe it's not a problem, as PGWP and EE are two separate streams
