Irrespective of the form and shape that the Express Entry may take there are a few things future applicants can do now (based on existing programs) to hit the ground running:

1. Get IELTS done for Self and Spouse.
2. Get reference letters for their intended NOC or atleast do the groundwork by informing supervisors / keeping text ready.
3. Maintain a healthy bank balance in line with current FSW reuirements.
4. Get ECA done for Self and if possible for Spouse too.
5. Make sure the Birth Certificates and Marriage certificates, where applicable, are correct and appropriate.
6. Identify relatives in Canada and let them know what kind of dcouments may be expected from them.

If CIC are going to pick and choose the candidates from a pool it would be advantageous to have as many points as possible rather than just clearing the cut-off.

I fully agree, i am now preparing for my IELTS and starting to gather my documents for this upcoming "Express Entry" system..

This upcoming new system called "Express Entry" is very competitive in nature, it's apparently a consumer driven approach wherein applicants will be viewed as commodities, the best and the most qualified applicants will be selected and those less desireable one will be left unpicked....

So they will also probably have to create a profile etc, entering the pool of candidates, in order to be able to apply through the various immigration programs...

Lets hope that they will not make LMIA a mandatory step for everyone, and they keep CEC as it is (although I have my doubts, I feel they want to control along with employers more the whole process)

I am thinking of applying for my wife, who will have in October a year on a skilled occupation (NOC 1224-property administrator)...

What troubles me a bit, is the salary stuff I read here n there, for her occupation Canada has low=11, median=19, high=36.
She is getting 12p/h, which is above minimum, and I guess is OK for a newcomer, with no Canadian experience, as an entry level job.

Some (minority actually) suggest that you have to get the average at least, so not to face any rejection, although technically they cannot reject due to wage issues, they'll say something else...

For me it makes sense though, that you don't get for sure below the minimum, that would be a red flag!

That's my dilemma, but I'm leaning towards applying now

Great forum to network definately, and for the people who have demanding jobs should be happier looking at the process bcos the hitch of finding a job there in Canada would be grately reduced if the system works exactly the way it is defined.

Anyhow, it will be quite early to say as of now since only a priliminary information is out but undoubtedly the best alternative as of now is to apply under FSW14 programme and if nothing works out there then the second option is well open

Current program will be applicable until Dec-2015 only. From Jan 2015, Canada express entry will be active.

May be you wanted to wrote "current system is applicable till Dec 2014"

I am booking for my IELTS now and my documents are all ready for "Express Entry" next year except for Settlement fund like 12K CAD which will be available in January...

If I apply in Oct 2014 as FSW, will I be considered or converted to express entry scheme?
Also if express entry scheme is driven by the market & only chosen candidates will be invited to apply - will there be no need to show the proof of funds?

Yes same 6.0 each band required.

Hi Friends,

Even I am waiting for the Express Entry as my profile is not currently in NOC list. I am wondering if there would be any such list under express entry system. As far as I have read, there is no minimum requirements like IELTS, experience, age etc. has mentioned anywhere. I hope the WES results would be applicable for EE also. Does anyone have any idea if spouse'IELTS score would be considered when calculating the points?

Express Entry will not have any NOC list

I didnt find any details about how age,IELTS,experience would be considered

just an info.
i believe they adapt the system like in New Zealand.
First you lodge an EOI (Expression of Interest) then if you will passed you will offer an ITA (invitation to apply)

it's more easy and manageable
