Hello friends, I will be landing Canada (Toronto) from the US. I want to bring my car. But I lost the title. I applied a duplicate but I probably won't receive it until I enter Canada. Now I realize as a temporary worker, I don't need to import my car. So my question is:

1. Can I temporarily import my car after I received the title? (It seems everyone did it at the border when they enter). I am asking because I want to to settle down in Canada so eventually I will need an Ontario plate.

2. Once I become a permanent resident, I need to permanently import my car. But I need to go to the US to get it exported first. But because I have applied for green card, I can't get a visitor visa (B1/B2). Do you know if someone else could do the export for me? (like driving the car to the US and export it and I will pick it up from the Canadian side)

3. I has seen people skipping the export part and my concern is, if I want to sell my car, Carfax will show that I imported but never exported. Even if the buyer is okay with it, he or she could get in trouble when driving it in the US. Is my concern real?

Thank you!

How about keep the car in the US until you became PR? Since you are currently coming to Canada as temporary worker, you have many years to figure out what best for you.

I don't think I can do it. Because even if I get the PR (from Canada), I still cannot enter the US because of the US green card application. I don't intend to get the US green card anymore.
