Export & import a car on different days

Is it necessary to export and import a car on the same (from the US to Canada)? For example, I'm driving up to the border the day before I land, as it's a long drive. Could I export on that day and import on the next day when I cross the border?

Hmmm, not sure, but it only takes a few minutes to do both if there is no line.
We got done exporting as fast as going thru a drive thru fast food place. Then the import took a few minutes while they looked over the paperwork.
I landed at Coutts on a holiday weekend around noon and no traffic.
You could list the vehicle on your forms and go back another day to do both export and import. Just be sure you have the date correct on your RIV paperwork.

If it's that fast, I'll just do it all on the same day to avoid problems. Thanks for the reply, Snowisland.
