Expiry of PGWP and Valid TRV

Hello forum member,

I have PGWP that expires in January 2024. Also, I have V-1 visa which is valid until August 2024.
The PGWP states the Must Leave Canada By <Date in January 2024>

Now, I wonder if I need to visit CBSA or let anyone know in IRCC that I would like to stay in Canada as a visitor.

If you are in Canada, you must change your status to visitor.

You can apply online 30 days before your visa expires,
you will be granted visitor record to stay further. Validty of visitor record can be anything, and at officer discretion.

Just as a note, the current processing time is 82 days for visitor extension.
