Let's assume the student visa validity is from August 2, 2016 till Sept 2, 2017. College intake is on January and for some reason I wasn't be able to attend the January intake and decided to take the May intake instead. So when I enter in May I will be given student permit that would last for duration of the program which is 8 months long from May 2017 till Dec 2017. My questions is, can I still a stay and study in Canada with an expired student visa but a valid student permit? If not, do I need to extend student visa?
