Hello,

I am in possession of Canadian PR and I have been backpacking through South America but I just realized my PR is expired. I am staying in the Dominican for 2 weeks before I fly back to Toronto and I was hoping to get the PRTD processed within that time but I was wondering what my other options are.

The reviews I am reading regarding the Dominican VFSA office are horrible and I am reading that the Mexican visa office where the PRTD is processed can be slow as well,

I really need to be back in Toronto otherwise I might loose my job. I have a Dutch passport, could I just use that to fly into Canada or could I fly to Buffalo and cross the border by car?

Thanks in advance

I think you'll need an ESTA if you want to fly to the US.

Booked a flight to Detroit instead because flying to Buffalo from South America is muy caro , does anybody know if I can get an Uber from the airport to the windsor train station ?

Do you mean cross the border in an uber?

Yeah because I don't have a driver's license

No, you can't take uber or lyft across the border. It's not legally allowed.

You can have them drop you off on the US side of the border, then walk to cross the border, then grab an uber after you have crossed into Canada to take you to the train station.

Easiest would be to call a taxi company in detroit and see if they'll do this. (I believe they will).

If not, as syclla suggests.

(Note taxi may not be ideal to cross the borde r as they might be waiting for a while, with the meter ticking)
