Hello folks,

I submitted my application on February 7th, 2013. I didn't have a PCC at the time. I got it on May 9th, 2013 but failed to submit it right away. I'm now wondering if it would be wise to make a new one or submit the one I already have at this point since the PCC is only valid for three months post the date of issuance.

I feel pretty foolish for having missed the deadline on this, but I'm unsure whether CIC asks to submit PCCs that aren't three months past their date of issue or PCCs that are three months older than the date of your application for permanent residency.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Your PCC must be less than 3 months old when you submit it.
I think CIC will refuse it, so you should get a new one.

I'd submit. If they need a new one they will simply request a new one. I think you may be ok.

You should submit it anyways, If they ask for a new one so be it. If they don't then lucky you.

Go ahead and submit whatever you have right now...you can submit a new when it is requested.

Should PCC be original or copy will work too?

As far as CIC is concerned, your PCC is valid for one year from its issue date, as long as it is not older than 3 months at the time you submit your APPLICATION (February 7).If you submitted on February 7, 2013, then "three months older than the date of your application for permanent residency" would be "older than November 7, 2012." Since your PCC is newer than that... Yes, submit it.

Having reread the CIC web site, I concur.. They probably will accept this one with no questions asked.
I had read it as "less than 3 months old when received by CIC" but it does imply that the critical "locked in" date is that of the application being received.

Even if it is more than a year old, sometimes they accept it, just in my case! So dont worry!
