I am waiting for my COPR. My work permit will expire on 8th Aug 2021. I would like to know what you should I do now? Which one should I go for BOWP or this 18th months extension work permit. Thanks everyone

In your case, either is fine. Pick whichever will give you less work to do.

Hi there,

I have confused to choose questions 3 in imm5710e form which is for PGWP extension.

My work permit will expired on March 2021 so which option should I have ti select?

1) An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer or 2) Restoration of your status as a worker.

Thanks in advance.

I am extending my pgwp too and my permit is still valid until July. Have a question regarding this same option, do we have to have a job offer to choose option 1 that is can I choose 1) An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer ?

Thanks wlaroshi !! glad to see people helping out each other here.
I think one would say restoration if the work permit expired. In my case it is still valid. So may be I'll go with .. option 1 that is " An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer" whatever that means :D

Go for 1 because it is same as applying for a new pgwp

Those who are on visitor record or implied status does not need to restore. Only go for option 2 if you are totally out of status

Thank you CripplingYogi194 ! Makes sense. I'll do that.

If we are already in Canada, I suppose we wont need to submit Schedule 1 declaration. Wonder if that is a correct assumption?

So the will TRV be automatically given along with the extended work permit without filling an additional application ?

My app for extended 18 month WP under this policy was approved in 15 days. They did not ask for my passport or give me a new TRV. They just sent the new WP to my home by mail. I will have to apply for a TRV separately

Thank you harvijay1001. So that means the only form to be filled is imm5710e. No need to fill the Schedule 1 form imm5257b if you are inland in Canada?

does that mean more application fee for a TRV ? wow...

I filled out a Schedule 1. I'm not sure if that was truly necessary or not but I did it .

Yup. Another 100$ for the TRV or you could just not travel outside Canada until you get your PR card. The TRV is only needed for entry back into Canada if you travel abroad. On the other hand, they are supposed to refund 100$ from the 255$ paid at the time of applying for this new PGWP although I haven't received such a refund yet

Yes if you are in Canada, you need to do a seperate application for TRV. They dont automatically ask for your passport. The TRV fee is $100. You need to receive your work permit approval to be able to apply for it.

Also carefully said, we are still in covid so they might not allow foreigners in without a valid reason even if you have a trv and work permit

How do you know they should refund the 100$ ? Do you have a link ?
