your ielts should be valid at the time of visa application(i was told by an agent when i was thinking about applying for NZ visa and my ielts was expiring like two months in advance from filing my case, anyhow i changed my plan aand applied for canada instead, and took the test again....they can not assess your current english level (which can be deteriorated in two years time) on the basis of your expired report card.
IELTS is not a mandatory requirement of CHC, so I can't say about your position. If you can have your university write a note that your are exmept from the requirement then u would be fine otherwise you will have to submit the valid one. It will create a good impression on your file that u can study and survive in the english speaking enviornment if you can show language competency.

Do you understand the mening of original IELTS? e.g, if your passport has been expired, will u still consider it original? Nope. Same with IELTS score. Once it is expired it is not longer considered original,period!
better discuss it with a good consultant in your city or expert on canadavisa forum.

did u get an exempt from your uni? did u get a written approval letter for this from ur univ which u submitted?
i applied for 4 canadian univs and ielts was a mandatory requirement.

I was exempted because the i got a B grade in o levels english.Its exempted if you have B plus in o levels english.

No its understood that its exempted by the university.University said theres no need.Neither did my cousin sent when he applied for the visa.

Visa officer can also infer this from his O level transcripts. If u have done your 12 grade or undergrad from a local university then that's a different story. U will definitely need original IELTS.

I have not attended any university.I have applied for undergraduate program.And you are exempted for Ielts if u have a B+ grade in english.

Regarding IELTS, as far as I know, it's not a specific requirement necessary to apply for a study permit. As long as you have a proof of acceptance, CIC assumes that you have met all the educational institution's requirements including TOEFL and so will not require you to sit for IELTS.

asked this as the university I am applying for exempts graduates from University of Karachi and certain other Pakistani universities from IELTS. I have confirmed this from the university as well and they say I do not need to submit IELTS scores but the question is how would the VO know I m exempt? Or like you said he would not need it as long as he has the Letter of Acceptance? Should I not worry about this while applying? ???

u can print and attach your email correspondence with the university as a side precaution.....
that is one option.
yaar, ielts is easy for those who have completed their undergrad studies at an university level and do read sometimes english newspapers....take it and done with it..
First thing, I did was to take my IELTS in advance and then I started searching for schools...now I feal at ease mentally....no more worries....
My honest opinion is that Pakistani universities should not be exempt from taking IELTS
1. Lectures are not taught entirely in English language if ever done...it is done in broken language with poor local accent.
2. Students do not read English books voraciously...they jot down class notes, memorize them and pass their exams.
3. I am not sure if they are allowed to write essays and compositions in English to a greath length.
Overall, I can say that students graduating from Pakistani universities don't neccessarily have a good command of the language so they ought to demonstrate their language skills with respect to standards set by english speaking universities.
