Expired IELTS verification

Hi,

CIC instructs that they accept expired IELTS. Having said that I don't have my original IELTS with me; I have sent it to CIC when I initially applied for my immigration. I cross check with the IELTS test centre and surprisingly they really don't have a mechanism to verify results older than 2 years.

Anybody has any idea how does CIC proceeds with these expired IELTS issues?

Do you have a photocopy? CIC requires only a photocopy with citizenship application. If you have a photocopy that should do.

If not photocopy then IELTS is not an option for you.

- Do you have copy of IELTS (irrespective how old is exam date)?
or
- Are you graduate and have your degree certificate in English (even from outside canada)?
or
did you attended language course @ immigration center after becoming PR?

if answer is yes to any of the above questions, then you are good to send documents related to above.

if not then, you may need to spend 200CAD for CELPIP (listen, speak) test...

or please google language document for Canada Citizenship, you will get CIC link for official page on this having all possible options.

CIC also sometimes verifies the originals, what if cic officer ask about original of the ielts paper during interview?

dnyfyn has already submitted the original during the immigration, its upto him now that whether he wants to submit the ielts copy or not and then explain the situation to the cic officer during interview that the original was submitted when he submitted the immigration application.

if you have already submitted your Original ielts TRF to cic for immigration, that TRF must have verified and must be mentioned on your notes record.(I have my notes file where it is mentioned). cic have not only access to your record but also its in cic custody. therefore, you can provide expired ielts results which were already verified by cic. however, you may prepare for explanation in case any question on ielts in interview.

Thanks a lot guys. Yes my original was verified by CIC. I have a copy of it.
