My parents couldn't travel to Canada from India eventhough their COPR was issued before March 18 2020. Now, they a few emails along the way but the flights weren't ready. Basically, there was no international airline operating from India other than the rescue flights.

Its like they almost got the PR if they were able to travel because it was given before March 18th 2020.

After march 18th if you got it, you can't go as per the instructions.

Now they want the medicals redone, just this week we got the instructions. What I don't understand is, why did they also ask to resubmit Background declaration, imm5669 and mentioned without travel history. It seems ridiculous to me because why? I understand the medicals, but why do they ask for imm5669 as well, they are treating as if we are just applying the first time.

In reality, once they issued COPR, they should either extend it, OR ask for medicals only, otherwise this seems very unnecessary.

Okay, it seems ridiculous to you. You're still going to have to do it.

Is it really productive to get excited about why?

Of course I will have to do it. We've paid more than 4K. But we are all not dummies. Everything has to have a reason otherwise it's trolling.

Since we all have a functioning brain as human beings, I understand they asked for the medicals because who knows my parents health probably had gotten worse so they wanna check. Fine!

But IMM5669 is basically, when did their parents die, where did they study, what was the address in the last 10 years etc. Which they already have! They specifically asked for Imm5669 during the process in 2019, and we sent them, they processed it and it was done, the COPR was issued, told to land before March 19, got the passport back too. Now if they are asking for Imm5669, for no reasons apparently, as someone with a functioning brain, I can only conclude that the officer lost the docklet or something and they wanna see it again.

The reason they are not already in Canada as PR is because of the flight ban, and CIC or VFS in India did not operate, now that they are open, instead of just extending the COPR or just asking for medicals, they are going back to square one and asking, wait a second! What was your eye color again? Wait!! tell me, why do you wanna come to Canada again?

Yes rant is somewhat over!

Okay, it's stupid. But if their situation has not changed, you are printing the same doc and signing it. Wow, that's an imposition.

I presume the requirement is to facilitate the (likely cursory) security and background checks. Stupid perhaps bit it's government. Print, sign, scan, submit. (Rant optional)

Okay that's a cute response lol. I guess you are right. We need fill that out again though, the why I was pissed, that means dad!! tell me the name of the school you studied!! Is the spelling correct, this document does not allow you to save out a filled out version. I should have scanned a copy if it. My bad!

Please don't think I am a person who is overreacting. A while back, just before issuing the COPR, they asked me to prove I am my parent's daughter! My gosh.. My birth certificate did not have my name on it cuz apparently back in the days they didn't put the name of new born in the birth certificate. IRCC reminded me that I had no proof that I am my parent's daughter! My school certificate does not have my full name (Another Indian thing, only had initials) so that was out. I had to reapply for my birth certificate in India in my mid 20s (from Canada) with all kinds of documents, and the officer was a corrupt guy who needed bribe just to do his job. I finally got the birth certificate, and then it was over, got the COPR. My Indian passport had my full name and my parent's name relating us, but IRCC refused it because I have been a Canadian citizen for many years now, and Indian passport has been cancelled, so they don't take cancelled passport copies as a document.

So sorry if I come off as a very impatient person.

As far as I'm aware you can save electronic copies of all of the forms except the travel history. And you can save them, too. (Travel history you can really just do as a big table and yes, scan a copy too).

So the only thing I'm really getting from this: everyone submitting should keep copies of everything they submit - everything.

Oh, also government can be a pain - news flash!

There are always reasons why IRCC asks for things. I am sure people sponsored or tried to sponsor people who are not their true parents. You likely filled out your application 3 years ago so IRCC wants to get updated information.

One way of "saving" those filled form is to print as PDF and save it.

also you need to understand that birthday certificate without your name and her school certificate does not have your full name and the corrupt Indian officer aren't IRCC's fault.... I think you can blaim Indian's birth registeration system... back then wasn't that good.
