Hi all,

Unless an extension is granted, I believe that the spousal open work permit program is set to expire on July 31 for inland applications.

Does anyone know if it's enough that the application is posted by July 31, or do they actually have to have the application on hand by that date to be sure to count for the OWP?

Otherwise, has anyone heard anything about an extension beyond July 31?

I think they will almost certainly extend the program. However no announcements have been made so far.

If they do not extend, then no - it is not sufficient if the applicated is posted by July 31st. The application must be received by IRCC on or before July 31st.
