i think it affects our profile if we mention our relatives in Canada. It happened in my case. So take care of this point.

Relative or PR application ,
Both wont effect your case , just mention your Dual intent ,

Where as if you Hide about your uncle in student visa and already mention it in PR then they will find out and it go against your student visa .

I will be applying for a study permit on the 1st week of May 2012. Please assess my profile and have ur say on my chances of getting a visa.

* Going to University of Toronto Electrical Engineering fall 2012.
* O' level grades 7/7 A grades, A' level grades 1 A* (Maths) and 2 Bs(Physics and Chemistry).
* English Exams taken: O'level English language- A grade
IELTS- Overall score 7.5

* Sponsors for my stay in Canada:
1. Father: Govt Service Doctor
2. Mother: Teacher and Business
3. Mother's Uncle in Canada (Citizen Canada)

* Total Income of all sponsors: CAD 170 000
* Funds available total of all sponsors in bank account: CAD 100 000
* Parents owning property valued at CAD 200 000 in home country.

Special point incase it makes a difference:
** Father had applied for skilled worker PR for full family in July 2007.

Experts please share ur opinion.

While applying for student visa never mention them that you have family members already living in canada

What do you mean by Dual intent? Please elaborate.

Having a relative in canada and with an PR application mean that you will not leave canada after successful completion of your studies. This is very important to prove your country tie to them. Under the federal immigration act a VO is not permitted to issue study permit or TRV to someone who failed to prove that he/she will leave canada after their studies.

Sponsor's/ Relative + PR Application is indacating it very easily that you are not suppose to leave canada after your studies.

Around 80% students who get refuse from the Indian subcontinent get the same refusal reason : " I'm not satisfied that you've enough tie with your country of residence and you will definitely leave canada after finishing your studies "

So try to cut your uncle's sponsorship and there is no form where you've to indicate that you father had applied for PR in 2007

University doesn't matter unless it is a college or not, UT is well renowned and one of the best one but they don't deal with your offer letter but what they deal is your financial proofs and country. 1st one is easy to prove but for the second one you need to provide strong cover letter and ties ( Family, Property , job anything for what you will come back or you've to come back ) and after all it's up to allah, If it is in your destiny they you'll meet with your destiny.
