Experts advice and direction appreciated regarding correct NOC code

Hi Seniors,

i am also on the same boat ,Please advise below NOC Clarification

NOC code issue

My WP -1 has occupation as “Embedded Software designer” which belong to NOC 2173 (skill A)
My WP- 2 and 3 have occupation as “Software computer system Evaluators” NOC 2283(skill B)
I called CIC call center to check my NOC code, they told me that my 1 st Work permit Occupation code is 9990500(I don't what it means) & 2 nd and 3 rd Work permit NOC Code is 2283.
Could you please let me know about my 1st work permit NOC code and suggest me which NOC code do i need use to apply PR.

My all roles and responsibilities will suites to NOC 2171 (Skill A)- Software QA analyst and NOC 2283(Skill B)- Test Analyst
Please guide me, what is proper NOC code do you want me choose applying PR.

If you are that kind of software tester than you are definitely not 2173. Software testing engineers under 2173 need to write code themselves. If you don't write any code, if you do blackbox testing rather than white box testing, you should be deciding between 2171 and 2283.

If you analyse the requirement and write test plans... I would say they may think you are a Quality Assurance Analyst under 2171. I feel 2283 is more involved in execution of the test plans only, not too much analysis of the software system.

No, Not necessary to write code - In the NOC itself it says some or all duties, no where it is mandated for 2173 to write code - core developers would choose 2174. 2173 does not much focus on writing code, main duties does not say about coding part

Testers can choose 2173
Testers who does small part of code can choose 2174

Dear friends my 3 work permits have 3 different noc codes
1) embedded software engineer==2173
2) iteract media program and developer==don't know what code
3)software and comp sys evaluators==2283

My job role matches with 2283 ....I have applied PR Cec under code 2283.
I got my AOR on July 5 th but no medicals yet.
Iam worried a bit now...Did I apply the under correct code..please help to understand

My job role matches with2173& and mainly 2283 (MY LATEST WORK PERMIT contains this..)....As advised by my lawyer, i have applied PR Cec under code 2173.

SHOULD I CHANGE TO 2283?

Hello Folks,

I need to get some advice from the expert. I'm working since 8 Years under 2173 as programmer(1+ years) 2283 as QA Analyst ( 5.5+ years ) and 2171 as Software QA/QA Specialist Occupation( 2+ year) as Performance Test Engineer Lead on H1B. Which are the NOC codes in high demand list across the provinces. I am getting the frequent calls under Performance Test Engineer Lead from Canada. What is the roles NOC Code relevant to PTE.?
