Hello,

I am currently residing in Montreal. I have a Full Time Job of Software Developer and Open Work Permit valid till August-2017.

My fiancee is currently in India. I am planning to go India around February-2015 and do the court Marriage. Then, around November-2015, I am planning to go back and bring my spouse along with me.

I am confused over which visa category should I call my spouse. Should she apply for TRV from and get OWP at port of entry at CAanda? Or, should she directly apply for OWP and get TRV along with it? I heard that Rejection chances for TRV are pretty high.

My fiancee is currently working in India and she has 1.5 years of work experience.

Senior Member, please provide your expert guidance over this.

Thank you.

She cannot just apply at the port of entry. She would need to get a TRV or OWP in advance of traveling to Canada.

That's what my concern is. Should she apply for TRV or should she apply for OWP. What do you suggest?

Thank you.

In my opinion apply for her OWP as she may have a better chance with an OWP then a TRV.
