I have seen that new members are totally getting ignore from seniors. Seniors should think that there was time when they needed help and they were waiting for somebody's reply so bad. Seems like everybody is busy with their own files.

There are some people who are waiting for reply from experienced members.
You guys should understand about new members who needs help.

It will be appreciated if you reply for those new members.

I have seen this myself, many people asking for help, and majority of the time instead of just answering the questions they just say oh look it up on a previous thread its been answered already. If you can take the time to type that and send, you can certainly spend 15 more seconds finishing the answer to help out as yes we all started out as newbies.

Hi, I so agree with you. I am new to the group and I had some questions that I needed advise on a few days ago.I was totally ignore, not one person responded. After a few days I went ahead and deleted my post. I felt so bad. I realize new people are been ignored. My point is how will the group improve if they are ignoring newbies..not cool >:(

I make an effort to check unreplied threads. When I don't know the answer, I point people to the thread that will help them most. The amount of activity here makes it hard for many people to read everything, I know I don't, so a good title is important.

Also, a well formed question with a lot of background information will receive many more replies.

I think people forget that advice is offered here FOR FREE! Senior members are not paid to do this and not everyone has the time to scroll through literally hundreds of posts a day. New members also need to make an effort to find out the information themselves....the search function on the forum isn't great but you can google questions which often link to previous forum threads. I did 95% of the research myself for my application, yes it took a lot of time a lot of reading but in the end your application is your own responsibility. I get a little frustrated when people expect to be spoon fed information, and I've seen quite a few examples recently, one especially springing to mind on the London thread. We all need to exert a little personal responsibility.

That is dam right rude. We don't live on this forum 24/7 and most of us try to help as much as possible, but sometimes people will ask for help and give you little or no information. Each country is different when applying for sponsorship, so some members stick to the country they know best about.

Yes do a little research then when your really stuck ask ...Some members leave the site after they have received corp, others stick around to help others. So we don't answer your question 5 mins after you post it. If you are not getting replies read the question you are asking and think what else can I include so people know the situation I am facing...

Does it not occur to you that we sometimes get tired of answering the same set of questions over and over and over? I'm not taking the time to type up an answer AGAIN when you could have spent 10 minutes doing your own research.

THe questions that get the best answers are the ones from people who do some research first and try to help themselves, instead of relying on others to do the work for them. When people ask specific questions I am more than happy to help. When people just post "how long will it take" or something then I just don't have patience to answer it because it's been asked a zillion times before.

Stop being so entitled. No one here is getting paid, we just do it as a hobby and to be nice. We don't owe you anything. Help yourself, or at least try to, instead of relying on others to do your work for you.

Here is a perfect example: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/marriage-to-palestinian-in-egypt-need-advice-and-direction-t280900.0.html

I don't know enough about sponsorship via Egypt to respond anyway, but I wouldn't respond... there are how many threads about sponsorship for Egyptians and Palestinians... Clearly that person hasn't done any research themselves, and I'm not going to go do it for them.

There is a lot of us here that do not check the forum everyday. Sometimes myself I check it a few days in row answer what I can and then I don't check it again for few days. I agree people should really start to do some research on some of their issues that they are encountering. Example I had an issue I posted about but then I looked up/called the appropriate entity for the governing rules and I then posted the answer to that question for others to learn from.

Chris.

Hi there ~ I just won my ADR appeal & I want to help but am very new to this and not sure how to reply .... Please feel free to ask me questions!!

Interesting, I was one of those people who stopped reading this site as much when I got COPR, although I do check back occasionally and answer what I can. But when I was regularly using this site there were days I was quite tempted to write a post opposite to this one, suggesting that people do a little research for themselves before posting their generic questions.

No one is paid to advise on this forum. Those who do give their time freely and aren't actually under any obligation to help anyone. Every senior member I know tries to help as much as possible but as many said above, people seriously need to help themselves first.

Sounds a bit of entitlement to me, if you want legal advice on how to apply, spend money and hire counsel otherwise be glad this forum can be used as a resource to assist people for immigration purposes, people have lives and jobs in which they cant respond literally every second the message was posted, like the others have stated it is your application so take ownership, do the research and then ask questions but dont expect people to answer all your questions and expect it immediately. this site is to be used as a resource.

Just to re-emphasize a few good points:

A good title is paramount! I'd rather see the VO that is processing the application over the word "HELP!!", if nothing else.

Sticking to our own VO! Yup. Hence the preceding suggestion.

Not just "same set of questions", rather the same set of EASY questions!

And just to add, many times there are SO many variables missing and while many times they are requested quickly and then it seems the OP has gone AWOL.

Also to add, if you call out senior members specifically, to me that's nothing more than a PM made public and is still none of my business.

I just helped someone in another thread.

Just sayin' ;D

I love this forum and the people on here! They have helped me so many times, this process is not easy on anyone!

If I was "ignored" or whatever I would just bump my post or pm someone I think is knowledgeable...not bicker and complain...this is a forum, which is a group of people (just like you!) with the same issues looking for information...not a free service pool. Information here is gathered from people going through this themselves, learning along the way...etc...

No one should be arguing or complaining unless someone has said something mean or hurtful.
