Experience of applying Visitor Visa from Canadian Embassy in Abu Dhabi

Please advise me, we are also belong to pakistan, we live in Dubai- UAE, my husband has worked here in UAE since last 12 yrs, & during this tenure, My husband has visited to UK (got visit visa 4times, shengen visa (once), while he visited to Oman, Qatar & UAE,

Please advise us, what we should do to get the visit visa for Canada specially ) Invitation letter is necessary or not, either my husband's friend is living in Canada( is he can provide us the invitation letter along with other documents like tax etc))
