Hi,


Quick question about the proof of employment documents.

I know that we submit out duties and responsibilities letters when we send the file to Delhi but I worked from 03 - 05 in a company and i never asked for a letter. i then worked from 05 - 09 in a different company. Now the most recent one if i ask will be dated 2009.

The experience i have from 03 - 05, I am going to ask the company to write a letter now should the letter be dated today's date or should it be dated in 2005 (when i quit). I read in a different post the someone said their case got rejected because Delhi said the experience document seems to be recently issued.

What to do ?

Dated when they write it. It has to show the duties, salary and the dates of employment.

Mine was dated recently and my employer addressed it to our local canadian embassy.

There is no way for me to get one dated a long time ago because they only issue reference letters upon request.

i have work experiance as asst manager finance in july 1993 to sept 1997 but i cannot provide appointment letter and salaery slip and any letter accept experiance letter i received from company.

by the way, the experience you have from 1993 to 1997 will not help you towards proving your eligibility for FSW or making your points for experience. if you apply now, only the experience you have 1999 onwards will help you proving your eligibility and making your points. but if you want to submit the experience letter for that period (i.e. 1993 to 1997), this is your own choice.

Anyone know how to document "self-employed"?

Since I was a self-employed consultant for the better part of the last 10 years, I don't have "employment contracts", or employers to ask for letters.

I've tried contacting both the main CIC office, and the Buffalo office, and am getting nowhere. CIC-Buffalo only repeated basic application instructions.
