Hi guys,

I am June 02, 2014 applicant. I have received Medical Request for myself and my spouse on July 11th. We are given 30 days to complete the medicals.

However, we are expecting the birth of our first child in Aug month. Any Ideas or Suggestions on What needs to informed to CIC? Will they extend time period for doing the medicals ?

Also what documents should I submit after my child is born? Please help me with the Answers. Good Luck to all others waiting for MR.

I am not sure, seniors on this forum might be able to give you the right advice.

But intuitively I feel you must contact CIC directly and inform about your specific case since it is not a common situation for many.

Also I heard the medical tests required for CIC purposes are pretty basic...Can't your wife take those tests while pregnant? Check with her Ob-gyn..and all the very best :)

Thanks Sita for you reply. X-ray test is part of the medical exam and we cannot do the test now.Only after the child birth, the Meds can be done for my wife.

Yes, I have to email CIC to ask for more time to do the medicals. I would also appreciate answers from senior forum members who had gone throught such situations.

Schedule the medical exams for both you and your wife. You can tell the physician upfront that she is pregnant, they can advise you. I think they will be able to complete most of her medical exam, with the exception of the chest x-ray, which will be done after the baby comes. I'm not 100% sure but I would expect the physician to communicate this information to CIC, but you should also do the same.

Of course, your application cannot be finalized until the x-ray is done, but CIC will allow this, of course.

Assuming your child will be born in Canada (and therefore will be a Canadian citizen), you would only need to submit the child's birth certificate.

Hi jes_ON

Thanks for your reply, yes I can do the medicals excepts for the X-Ray part. I have emailed CIC anyways to keep them updated about my situation.

Also, my kid will be born here in India. So I believe I need to send some more documents to update my File.

You will surely need to submit the birth-certificate of your baby (not the provisional one but the final one which you get from the local municipality of your area)

And you will also need to submit his/her passport. So once your baby is born apply for his/her passport (preferably in tatkal) so you can get it sooner.

I know this because these were the two documents we submitted to CIC in 2014 when my husband applied through FSW.

And also you would need to submit the baby's photographs in the same specifications as you would have submitted yours and your wife's.
