Hello, I am seeking help from individuals who have experience with travel issues of PSR-G5, particularly those who may know someone affected by a flight cancellation. Specifically, I would like to know if anyone has encountered a situation where a person was supposed to travel on May 22nd, 2024, but their flight was canceled. Additionally, if their movement is currently on hold by the CHC (Canadian High Commission) and their online status which was "Decision made" and had a Visa and booking in hand has reverted back to “in process."3days prior their departure. how long can one typically expect for a travel update in such cases? Is this kind of delay common for refugee PSR Group 5 travelers departing from Kampala, Uganda to Canada.

Asylum cases are extremely individual. At any point a file can be reassessed. Can have to do with the refugee, the private sponsors in Canada, issues with IOM or some sort of procedural issue from Canada.

Order GCMS notes or as your sponsors in Canada to follow-up regarding your application. Your flight wasn’t cancelled your COPR was which meant you could not fly to Canada.
Thanks for the advice! I’ll order the GCMS notes and reach out to my sponsors in Canada to follow up on my application. Just to clarify, since my COPR was cancelled, I can’t fly to Canada, right? Also a reminder I reached out to IRCC a couple of times, and they replied saying they can't provide a timeline for my application due to the required screenings. They assured me they'll finalize it as soon as possible and will contact me when they're ready to proceed. They regret they couldn't give a more favorable response.

So you are aware of what is going on. It seems as though you are having to go through additional background checks. You may have been given COPR in error the first time. All you can do is wait. Unless you have a valid TRV (highly unlikely) no you can not travel to Canada. Processing of private sponsorships take a long time. Canada may have also reached their quota for approved private sponsorships this year.

I appreciate the clarification on the background checks and the quota situation. I understand that waiting is the best course of action for now.
