Hello everyone,
Those who had their visas & did their exit interview in December. Anyone received any call or email from the IOM about their flights???
Until some refugees in Canada have been moved out of hotels and into their own homes they won’t bring in more refugees. It can be very difficult to find affordable housing especially if refugees are unemployed and don’t have extra savings they have brought from home.

But it's more than 2 months that we are waiting for our flights, every thing is finished. Interview, medical, quarantine plan, Visas, exit permit all are done.
Even if your right, but the quarantine duration is 14 15 days not more. We are waiting for 60 70 days
Not a bro first of all. Not speaking of quarantine period. Once in Canada, the refugees from Afghanistan are placed in hotels and after the quarantine period, if needed, settlement agencies work to help families try to find longterm housing that fits their budget. It is harder than you may think because social assistance payments are very low and the cost of housing can be very high in many cities in Canada. Most families don’t have access to cars so they need to be close to public transportation or in walking distances to things like schools, grocery stores, etc. The larger the family the more difficult it is to find accommodations. In general families in Canada tend to be only 2 parents and 2 children. There is also a shortage of translators that can help with resettlement issues. Canada can only accept more refugees once others have moved into permanent housing.
