My frnd have existing supervisa she got in 2018. She is staying in Canada since last 2 years. I know previously supervisa let you stay in Canada upto 2 years continuously. But as per new rule you can stay upto 5 years continously without existing border. My question is does this 5 year rule applies to person who has existing supervisa which she got before this 5 years rule got implemeneted.

She can attempt to extend her stay by applying for an extension while remaining in Canada. If she leaves Canada and tries to reenter to stay for another 5 years she could be denied entry because a supervisa is a visitor visa and is not meant to remain in Canada forever. If she would like to reenter and remain for 5 years she should plan on returning home for an extended amount of time and then reenter Canada again to visit for 5 years. Every year visiting on a supervisa os always conditional on being able to obtain supervisa insurance.
