tell him that you need job responsibilities for pursuing MBA-Executive Correpsondence IGNOU (If India).
Thats it...

If any issue purchase the prospectus n show him

There is a high possibility that CHC contacts your employer for background check. I would recommend telling the truth to your HR manager and immediate manager. Explain your aspirations and give them confidence that entire procedure takes about two years and if at all you get PR and you decide to move, you will give enough time to company to replace you as you will know in advance when you want to go.

There is nothing more easy and nice that starting always with the right foot, since the very beggining, if you ask an advise and make your boss/HR feeling that you are taking him/her on your plans, it is much likely that you will receive more than only support from them, any way the process is too long most of the times, so you are not leaving the company right away nor goning to the competitor. just looking forward for better life.

try it and you will be surpised, and as our friend ankit_20 just wrote, it is also way much likely that CIC will ask for references, then your boss or HR will not like it, if they belive that you were hidding this from them.

Nothing more beautiful and peace of mind than the truth.

Good luck

I am curious, is it the culture in all countries that if someone leaves a company they wish him best rather than feel 'angry' for abandoning them? I am just curious on this.

Sometimes, it is like a "Divorce case", Man.
Believe me, I have had 2 employers ( one in Germany and one in the UK) who gave me hell when I resigned.
I had to threaten them with a Lawyer before they issued the reference letter - which they reluctantly did at last.
As a man who believes in the saying that "No job is finished until the paper work is done", I have a policy of not starting a job without a written contract and I have never left/resigned from a job without taking all the necessary papers with me plus a reference on the company's letter head since 1991.
It's always paid off!!!

My concern is ..what about current employer..we have to take reference from them..after asking for reference they may do step mother teratment..which is quiet obvious

Well from last few weeks i am thinking to ask my current employer a reference letter. I think they will just provide a Certificate of Emloyment which states my Name/Job Title/Appointment Date/Salary and my assignment etc.

They will not give a detailed letter of reference with job duties, so i am planing to use this Employment Certificate with a cover letter giving reason why i can not provide reference letter from my current employer.

Now trick is what reason should i provide?
