exceeding co-op hours

Hi,

I am on a study permit with work permit. I need the work permit to do my coop program.

I was told that my coop hours (work hours) should not exceed more than my study hours, so
if I study say 500 hrs I must not work more than 500 hrs.

I plan on applying for a PGWP after finishing my study program, but what if I exceed my coop hours?
would my application for PGWP be rejected?
