I was recently notified to write my exam on a certain date in January 2012 but I will be away on holiday. I faxed my local immigration office as per the advice of Citizenship Canada requesting a new date. Does anyone know how often they write the exam ? Many thanks, Michael

In my experience, they are not very happy if you want to postpone. They feel that citizenship should be the most important event of your life and so you should drop everything and do it. That is also why they will not let you schedule a date when it suits you. If you postpone, you will have no idea when they will reschedule you. It might not be the next test date at all. For all you know, it might be anywhere within the next year and you will know with very short notice again.
Thank you very much Leon. That sounds soo unreasonable doesen't it ! I had planned this trip like 8 months ago because initially they told me that the application would take at least 15 months...it has only been 10 months from my application date ! And if you also consider that a persons file has now been sent to your local office etc etc . The irony is that my local office is within walking distance from me lol. Anyway, what can we do, the powers that be !!!! Thanks again for your reply
