Hi
When we landed we stayed a couple of months with a relative. Then, we signed our first rental lease. There is a discrepancy between the date we actually moved to the rental place (signed the lease) and the date we gave CRA + drivers license. Reason: We had forgotten to update our addresses with those two departments within the 6 day period and gave them a later date while updating our address with those two places.

Fast forward 3 years, it's time to apply for citizenship. Which date should we put on the citizenship application form? (a) The move in date on our rental lease agreement, when we actually moved in or (b) the date we gave to CRA and driver's license. There was around a month difference in both dates.

Thanks. Happy to get others' opinions too.

More context: The lease was a private agreement between myself and the landlord.
My concern is that If I use the date on the agreement as my move in date instead of what I told CRA / MTO. Wouldn't that come as a address date discrepancy during a back ground check?

Problem: different actual move-in-date and the date shared with CRA and Ministry of Transportation. (1 month difference) What to put in the address field on citizenship application.

No, the address dates isn't really an issue unless it is off by many months.

In this particular case, provide the "actual dates" => Date when you actually moved in. I don't think you'll ever be asked about this but in the extremely rare case they do ask you about this, simply tell them the truth. No issues.
