Hi,

Simple question: Do you get all your evidence back after the application has been processed? The reason i ask is that we are including letters and sentimental information which we would like back.

Thanks, Mike

I have heard in most instances they do NOT return items - so if you want to include such things, you should copy them, and submit copies of them. [This is what I did...]

good luck :)

Thanks Rasha,

Can i also ask how you organised your evidence?

Our plan is to place all our evidence in a timeline from earliest to present, number all the pages and then just refer to them when writing answers to the questions (e.g. see evidence page 12, photo 23, etc). We were going to tape ticket/plane stubs to pages of paper so they can be easily seen but not getting all mixed up. All our photos were just going to be sent in their paper wallet which would be numbered, dated, locations and people names written on the backs. I know the information cant be in binders or folders, so did you just leave everything loose and hope they don't mix it all up?

Thank you!

Mike, from what I've seen, it depends a lot of the Visa Office processing your case. The Visa Office processing my case returns 100% of what is sent, except for the forms, obviously. All the e-mails, cards, letters, pictures, plane tickets, etc, are sent back in all the cases. But I know that many Visa Offices don't give anything back. Just in case, we sent copies. :)

We organized everything using envelopes, nothing was stapled. One envelope for the e-mails, another one for cards and letters, another one for the forms + documents needed, another one for the Police Clearances, etc... Each envelope was numbered and I also wrote what was inside it. Plus, we wrote a "Cover Letter", explaining what was inside each envelope and the number of it, I also gave some little explanation about the pictures sent, highlighting some of them. For example:

Pictures 1 to 10: First trip together
Pictures 11 to 20: B meets L's family
- Picture 14: B, L and L's family, at S restaurant
Pictures 21 to 30: Engagement
- Picture 25: Engagement ring

Of course each picture had all the informations on their back, such as place, date, people in it, etc, but we decided to give them some help by letting them know where to find everything. :)

Edit: Documents were sent copies as well, notorized though - while the evidences of the relationship were just regular copies. But no originals, in case they lose it. :)

My husband was requested to bring in original consent letter from his daughter's mother to bring her to Canada to live with him, also original Marriage and Birth certificates. He submitted these to the visa office. So i sure hope they give them back after the process is over, because he will need the original letter of consent to bring her on the plane to Canada, they will ask for it at immigration at the airport.

Hi,
Visa section will return all your original documents submitted for evidence or proof. Usually they return it together with the passport, once the case is finalized.
