Hello everyone,
My name is Nick, and I'm applying for Express Entry. I have a master's degree in statistics, but while I've been looking for a job, I've been working mostly as an online math and statistics tutor for a site called Chegg. I got my degree in May 2017, but started tutoring in September 2015. So I have three years of experience in math instruction ranging from 10-30 hours a week. I also worked for four semesters as a teaching assistant, and for nine months as a math instructor at a private tutoring center. Based on my research on the NOC codes, it seems like NOC code 4216 would be most appropriate - "tutor - secondary school subjects." I've read about having to prepare documentation for previous jobs - what would be the best way to do this for an online, contractor job? I'm considered self-employed as a tutor, meaning I receive a 1099 tax form. I'm guessing attaching these would be good? I could also get a letter prepared by the tutoring community manager at Chegg, I imagine. Any other obvious steps I'm missing?
Thank you,
-Nick
