EVERYTHING ABOUT MORDEN 2016

I made up a folder of previous research, living and settlement costs etc and things to do in the area.
We were actually 3 hours late to the interview because of a serious road accident. I'm just glad they saw us.
Phone services do seem reasonably high but similar to the UK. Rental property seems great value as you say. Property for sale also seems reasonable and spacious.

We are currently renting our 2/3 bed house here in the UK for 1400 cad it seems that we can get a more spacious place in Morden for much less.
How did your employer visits go?
I got told by one firm that when I return with PR they will employ me and a couple of other employers were interested also.
It's really great to not have to worry about work.

For me it is a bit different as I work as hypermarket store manager and the interview process is a bit more complex. But I already have 5 invitation to apply on the job bank website.It seems that there are good chances to get a job quite soon after we land.

During your Skype interview you will likely be asked about your work experience, qualifications, why you are interested in moving to Morden, if you have connections elsewhere in Canada and if you have visited Canada before.
If you are asked about living in a rural area it will be to make sure you will be able to adjust to life in Morden. All you can do is answer honestly, I doubt you will be discounted just because you are not used to rural living.
If you go for an exploratory visit you will learn all you need to know for the in person interview. The questions are largely about what you did on your visit.

We rented a car for the trip but it can be arranged for you to be picked up at the airport I believe.
We stayed with a lovely couple in their spare basement apartment for 60 cad per night, this was arranged for us, you might be put up in transition accomodation, it depends on what is available.

Groceries and eating out is very reasonable, or it seemed so to us but we are from the UK and everything seems to cost a fortune here.

I meant that if you aren't from a rural area it shouldn't matter too much.

I'm sure there are plenty of retail management jobs around. I guess if you have worked in management it can crossover to other industries also.
I have to admit I haven't really explored the job bank website in any kind of detail yet. I should probably pay it more attention.

Will you be taking family with you? And did you take them on your EV, if so how did they enjoy Morden?

Personally I love it there as it seems it has the peace and quiet I need , and the people are very nice and accommodating. For such a small area (Morden and Winkler I mean) you find everything you will ever need...and that's cool, and Winnipeg is only 1h drive away.

For now my family is me and my wife (as we just got married last year). I went alone on EV as my wife had just finished her annual leave . We visited schools and childcare centre whilst there also as we have two boys. The school's seemed to be very relaxed and not strict, a nice environment to learn in.
We visited just after the big October snow storm, it was very scenic with the snow still around. I just hope the rest of the process goes quickly, we are really looking forward to going back there.

As it stands we have sent off for criminal checks, medicals are on 13th and I have an appointment at the bank about proof of funds. I requested a bank reference a few weeks ago and when it turned up it didn't contain any of the information I need... It's going to be tricky.

You will probably be contacted very near if not on the date you were given, so don't worry if you don't hear for a while.

Regarding the reliability letter (as per my english translation, in romanian is scrisoare de bonitate), it is tricky, as for me my money are in 2 deposits and for the deposits can give statement until the date of change (like renewal of deposit, withdrawal...etc) so as my automatic renewal was in november for one of my accounts I can get only since November. I sent a letter to the bank and translated the reply so I will not have any issues. Hopefully it will be enough

I will send sux months bank statements with the letter I get from the bank and hopefully it will be enough.
From my understanding they only need to check that the money is ours and not borrowed.
Should be fine.
