Hey there,

I am currently on a normal workpermit which is currently locked to my company (not PGWP). I wanted to take some evening MBA courses at laurier since i live in waterloo. I contacted CIC and the lady said that I need to get a Study permit but that I should be able to retain my existing full time work permit and that I can go ahead and keep working full time.

I just wanted some advice for anyone who has done this before? I cant afford to go to school full time but i can definitely do it part time while working full time.

thanks

no u cant....Beware of these call center people they dont know any thing. They told me i can apply before convocation and work exp will be counted from 1st day of PGWP. But it doesnot. So do proper research before doing any thing other wise UR PR will be in a problem.

Thanks

From my understanding, an international student is not allowed to study "Part Time" in the first place. If you want to study you have to study full time. This used to be the rule till recently. Maybe someone can confirm.

I am really suprised that the CEC rep this morning would give me such wrong advice.

See I thought it was different for candidates who are currently on an employer specific Work Permit then PGWP.
