Hi Immi friends!

I received a letter a few weeks ago stating that my application has been sent to the local Etobicoke office for further assessment. Not sure why the letter says "further assessment" because I've already received my AIP.

Wondering if anyone has had the same experience and have an idea of how long the processing times will take at Etobicoke. I've heard their processing times are 24 months but I've already received AIP so that doesn't really make any sense.

Any insight on this would help my wondering mind get a bit more settled.

Thanks!

Your Immi Friend

Etobicoke is the "red flag" office, meaning applications with concerns or issues will go there. AIP doesnt mean much really, its not a guarantee that you got the visa. they probably have concerns about ur relationship or something else

For an Inland applicant, AIP is supposed to mean that the relationship has been verified. AIP means that the applicant is now, officially, eligible to apply for sponsorship (even though they already have). For an Inland applicant, verifying the relationship is required before AIP is issued.

It's possible that CIC has some concern/issue with the OP regarding admissibility, which is part of stage 2.

If they are having issues with admissibility, how long does it usually take to hear back, do you know??

Thanks for your reply!! :)
