Hi all,
I am supposed to travel from Mexico to Canada on december 24 at 1:10 PM.
I have an approved eTA.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport and I just got the new one two days ago. I sent an email to IRCC through the online form to ask if I had to make a new eTA request or report this change of passport, and I was answered that if my situation had changed since I requested my eTA, the agent could refuse me entry to Canada. Very helpful (sigh).
So I made a new eTA request with my new passport information, but I made an error in my name which I only noticed in the confirmation email I received afterwards. Splendid. I sent another email through the online form explaining all that happened.
I am still waiting for an answer. I've been trying to reach IRCC by phone but I am not able to talk to anybody.
Does anyone here know what an agent would do in this situation? If I don't get an answer, is there a chance that they let me in if I explain what happened and show the emails? Is there a number I could call? Is there any chance that I get an answer by email or are all the offices closed for Christmas? Should I make a new eTA request with my correct name to save time?
With hope,
Dora
